Welcome to Wild Plant 3D
Recent advancements in the development of Shotcrete 3D Printing, a revolutionary 3D concrete printing technology (SC3DP). A design and manufacturing strategy for a completely reinforced, double curved concrete demonstration with high surface quality was designed to illustrate the technique's unique features, and is discussed in depth in this paper. This demonstrator focused on two subjects in particular: first, structural augmentation in both primary directions, and second, an automated surface finishing method for a high-quality concrete surface. This combination of additive fabrication and formative and subtractive postprocessing was demonstrated at the unique large-scale Digital Building Fabrication Laboratory (DBFL).
The most extensively explored and frequently utilized 3D printing technology for the creation of large-scale concrete components today is layer-based extrusion of concrete. The most typical approaches are based on either the Contour Crafting technique or 3D Concrete Printing. A significant community of researchers and business players have embraced the latter in particular. While some complicated and elaborate lighthouse projects have recently been achieved on a large scale, there are still process-related problems that must be overcome for 3D printing with concrete to achieve a sustainable foothold in the construction industry.
