Welcome to Wild Plant 3D

Overview

The Laser Tunnel Scanning System is a 3D laser-based infrastructure evaluation tool that employs sensor technology that Wildplant has been developing in close collaboration with FARO Technologies Inc across India for over a decade.

Advantages:

In the recent decade, significant advancements in high-speed 3D imaging technology have been developed, and commercial, off-the-shelf systems for automatically evaluating infrastructure condition at fast speeds are now available. The Laser Tunnel Scanning System, invented by Wildplant, is one such instrument.

At speeds of up to 100 km/h, the LTSS system uses high-speed cameras, bespoke lenses, and laser line projectors to gather both 2D photos and high-resolution 3D profiles of infrastructure surfaces. This type of 3D scanner has a number of advantages over traditional manual examination methods, including:

  • Improved staff safety
  • Day or night-time operation
  • Reduced inspection time
  • Improved accuracy and reliability of results
  • A permanent visual record of the condition of 100% of the tunnel surface

Importantly, this technology may be used to manage a variety of assets in a variety of modes of transportation, including:

  • Roads and Highways
  • Airport Taxiways, Runways and Aprons
  • Tunnels
  • Rail Systems
